April 2025

SunBloc is a summer series of monthly community events held on the Outdoor Boulders at The Castle Climbing Centre. The series celebrates climbing, music, and togetherness, creating a vibrant space for the local community to connect and unwind outdoors.

I led on the full end-to-end production from concept development and creative direction to event management, partnership outreach and artist bookings. My role also included designing all event graphics and promotional assets, overseeing marketing strategy and content distribution, and producing videography and social content to capture and share each event’s atmosphere. Responsibilities further covered risk assessments, logistics coordination and maintaining close collaboration with partners and vendors to ensure smooth delivery.

The first event of the season, held in April, featured brand activations from Huel, Tenzing and Unrooted Shots, with food from Aria Artisan Pizza and DJ sets by Tricz and Crud3k.

June 2025

As part of The Castle Climbing Centre’s athlete event series, I worked on the planning and delivery of a special day with professional climber Will Bosi - one of the world’s top athletes and the first to repeat the legendary Burden of Dreams (V17).

The event featured a series of climbing workshops led by Will for a range of ability levels, offering participants a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the sport’s leading figures. In the evening, we hosted a screening of his latest film, Sir William and The Quest for the Holy Jug, followed by an engaging Q&A session that brought the community together to celebrate climbing and shared experiences.

I was responsible for the creative direction, event production, and partnership coordination throughout the project. My work included designing all event graphics and promotional materials, managing content creation and videography, and overseeing the collaboration with Core Climbing, who provided the Burden of Dreams replica setup. I also coordinated a community raffle and conducted interviews and on-site content capture to document the day.

I produced and delivered The Castle Climbing Centre’s Summer Garden Party, a full-day community event designed to celebrate climbing, creativity, and connection in the centre’s outdoor spaces. As the sole producer, I led every stage of the project - from concept development and partner outreach to on-site delivery and post-event content management.

The day featured a community Outdoor Boulder Comp, for which I designed the scorecards, liaised with the routesetting team, and managed competition logistics and prize coordination. I organised a morning yoga session with Katyoga, vendors stalls featuring local artists and makers selling handcrafted climbing brushes, chalk bags, knitwear, art prints, and accessories, as well as a dedicated kids’ area with a bouncy castle and face painting.

Accessibility and inclusion were central to the event’s design. I coordinated free auto belay taster sessions to lower both the financial and technical barriers to climbing for new participants.

The event also featured a bar, DJs performing throughout the day, and an ice cream truck. I managed all operational aspects, including vendor and artist contracts, risk assessments, alcohol licensing, and health and safety documentation, alongside content production, scheduling, and on-the-day coordination.

This project showcased my ability to independently oversee large-scale community events from start to finish, balancing creative vision with operational precision to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for both partners and attendees.
